Women’s Short HairCut: Halle Berry’s Messy Top with Undercut
Undercuts are not just for boys; they can be a great way to add relief to your pixie cut, just like Halle Berry did. To take it to the next level, try adding a little volume.
Ursula Corbero’s short cut
The Pixie cuts are often associated with a romantic fringe swept to the side. For an unexpected touch, opt for a feathery fringe on your forehead. Ask your stylist to make short locks for you all over the surface.
Narrow Bantu knots
If you are not familiar with Bantu knots, this is a southern African hairstyle created by the Zulu people, where the hair is divided and twisted in such a way as to form a spiral knot.
The universal word “Bantu” translates to “people” in more than 400 different African languages.
Miley Cyrus’ dyed blow dry
Miley Cyrus is known for her boldness, and her hairstyle is no exception. This hairstyle is not for sensitive souls, but if you feel attacked, shave the sides of your head and give as much volume as possible on top.
Classic Bob with Zendaya Fringe
A bob is a simple short style that you can easily achieve without going as short as a pixie cut. While curly bobs are popular, try a smooth, smoothed version like Zendaya for a retro touch.
Ginnifer Goodwin’s angular Pixie cut
Pixie cuts are incredibly versatile; they can be as feminine or bold as you want. Ginnifer Goodwin opted for a less romantic cut with his angular pixie, which highlights his elf features.
Rihanna’s classic Caesar Cup
If the Caesar cut is a common style for men, Rihanna proves that it can be an equally great look for women. The straight and short fringe makes it a different hairstyle from a pixie cut.
Katherine Heigl’s Timeless Bob
Part of what makes bobs so attractive is that you can style them the way you want. For example, this curly cut sported by Katherine Heigl evokes old Hollywood, but the same smoothed style would offer a more modern look.
Ciara and her blonde cut with dark roots
While you may be tempted to hide your dark roots as soon as they start to appear, follow Ciara’s example and let them grow a bit. To ease the transition, try to separate your hair in half.
Sharon Stone short scissor cut
Scissors and clippers have a different effect on your hair when cut. While mowers are best for very short styles, scissors can help create more dimension and volume.
Michelle Williams’ Short Wick
Michelle Williams’ bun is short, soft and smooth. Her deep lateral line gives body to her smooth and neat hairstyle.
Bulky Pixie with deep side line
This pixie cut is a little different from the traditional hairstyle. You have to mix the lengths to get as much volume; cut the sides of your hair short, but leave plenty of length on top to play with.
Layered cut with angular fringe
Pixie cuts often have a short fringe, but don’t hesitate to let yours grow so that it becomes a real fringe. To draw attention to your face, add bright highlights to your bangs.
Rita Ora’s blow drying
If you like the idea of a bob but don’t want to get into cutting, follow Rita Ora’s example. By curling the ends of your hair after a blow dry, you can create a bob style without taking the scissors.
Short Crop with textured top by Kaley Cuoco
Kaley Cuoco was known for her shiny blonde hair, but her feathery, textured cut highlights her pretty features. For a little more fun and volume, try styling your hair against your natural line.
Blonde bob with dark tips
You can do just about anything with a bob, including playing with its color. By adding dark ends to your hair, you won’t even have to worry about touching up your roots when your hair grows.
Natalie Portman’s short scissor cut
If you want to try a pixie cut, opt for a classic model like Natalie Portman’s scissor cut. You can always try something new afterwards, as this is a great base cut that you can lean on.
Lily Collins The Beauty of Old Bob
For a special occasion, opt for Lily Collins’ glamorous retro cut. Its smooth roots and large curls at the ends evoke the style of the 1920s, perfect for any event.
Kristen Stewarts: blonde and frizzy cut
If you thought a pixie cut is short, think again: a buzz cut is the shortest you can get without completely shaving your head. To stand out, opt for a platinum blonde as the brave Kristen Stewart did!
Mary Elizabeth Ellis’ degraded haircut with a stingray on the side.
Layers can create the much desired texture in the hair, but can also remove volume. By adding a line on the side, the crown is given volume and the scattered layers are balanced.
Roxane Mesquida’s side-scan bob
Reminiscent of the glamour of old Hollywood, Roxane Mesquida pulls most of her hair back, but keeps her fringe fallen to the side in a loose S-wave. There are several ways to get a similar look. One of the most traditional methods is to curl the hair into one-inch sections using a small curling wand (the smaller it is, the better). Hold the curling iron perpendicular to the line. Start with the root and curl the hair on and around the wand. Do not let the loop come off. Remove the wand from the buckle, pin it and let it cool (about ten minutes). Do the same with all hair, from the line to the side of the face, in one-inch sections. Once all the curls have cooled, remove the pins and brush the hair with a boar bristle brush. The loops must take the form of an “s”.
Half-high bob with caramel locks by Evan Rachel Wood
Caramel is such a beautiful blonde color that works well in any season. It is an austere tone that warms the face. Here, the combination of his caramel locks and his half-raised bob gives Evan Rachel Wood a serious and dignified air. The hairstyle contrasts well with a fun touch of blue eye shadow.
Pixie blonde bristly
The bristly texture and light blonde color give the classic pixie haircut a cool-girl side. A darker eyebrow contrasts well with this look and adds definition and a solid foundation to facial features.
The pompadour is a classic and elegant way to give style and dimension to any look. It can be created with all lengths of hair, but it is especially easy to achieve with short hair, as these are lighter and can retain the necessary volume on top. To achieve this look, use a volumizing spray to help create the ottoman and a gel or wax to smooth the sides.
Sweep on a bob with fringe cut into pieces
Sweeping is a freehand coloring technique that creates a more natural gradient of light. The sweep is a little freer than traditional locks and is particularly suitable for a naturally sunny look. She is often associated with long, wavy beach hair, but she’s amazing with a sophisticated bob and cut bangs. The contrast of these two different looks, fawn and refined, is definitely a unique style.
Lavender Haze Short Crop
This color is so perfect for any season! It will make you notice wherever you go and, especially at this length, its delicate tone can be perfectly appreciated.
Lily Collins Pixie with Side Scan
Pixie cuts are very versatile and delicate, and Lilly Collins knows how to wear them! With a fringe on the side, it gives the entire asymmetrical look the finish it needs.
Scarlett Johansson’s short cut and wavy side fringe
For someone who has thick, wavy hair like Scarlett Johanson, this short scissor cut is a pretty cool way to highlight their hair by leaving it longer on top.
Gigi Hadid’s cut in the background
A very professional look with a touch of sexy, that’s what this look exudes! The classic square is very versatile and easy to style.
Demi Lovato’s inverted bob
Demi Lovato is known to express herself quite often with the help of different hairstyles. This style, however, is a bit more reserved and classic. The inverted square highlights his facial features well and, of course, the line on the side is also a key element of the game.
The wavy cut with ray on the side of Chloe Moretz
I feel incredible glamorous vibes of the 1940s thanks to theWavy oupe with a stingray on the side of Chloe Moretz. The wavy ends make an already short cut even shorter and bolder, I love it!
The degraded cut of Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron’s degraded cut brings movement and fantasy to a good extent. Who said that short haircuts aren’t up to par when it comes to styling them? Not us! The way they curled his fringe to the side with the rest of the layers is super cute.
Keri Russell’s Wavy Bob
Kery Russel’s lush hair is to die for! Especially when she displays her incredible ripples in a gradient square. Degraded cuts look great on thick hair.
Dark roots and blonde highlights
We are seeing more and more of this young and cute style these days. And to say that there was a time when people did not want to be surprised by too long roots! Fashion passes and you should do the same!
Curly short cut
This haircut is all in shape. Quite boldly, they accentuated the curls by giving the cut a sharp edge and I’m delighted! The contrasts! They can create such unique looks.
Michelle Williams’ Short Cut
Michelle Williams’ very blonde and very short pixie is fantastic with a long fringe on the side. Notice that she opted for rather long layers instead of the short layers that characterize the classic pixie haircut.
Kirsten Stewart’s undercut
Do you want short, then go a little further? That’s what Kirsten Stewart did here. Taking a page from a whole other book, the undercut, Stewart intensified it by leaving the top long enough to make a little highlight and I absolutely like the whole look.
The wet bob look of Daria Strokous
The wet hair look seems to be such an iconic hairstyle choice every time and I love Ursula Corbero’s version with the side part like that.
The Bob Signature and alice pagani’s short fringe
Italian actress Alice Pagani, best known for her role in the Netflix series Baby, wears a short fringe like this exceptionally well, and the bob haircut perfectly frames her features.
The wavy square of Sophia Amoruso.
If you feel like you know entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso like your girlfriend after watching Girl Boss on Netflix, say “I”! But seriously, during the whole show, I just thought she had such a unique style and if you follow her on Instagram, you know it’s absolutely true.
Here she wears a romantic wavy square with a deep natural side line. I really like what they did with the ripples, making them defined but with a fairly soft texture.
Letitia Wright’s cut with a stingray on the side.
The different levels of this hairstyle are what makes it so great. I can’t help but go back to the waves, they are so fresh and soft and give a beautiful texture!
The characteristic blonde ripples of Tati Gabrielle
Tati Gabrielle is one of the weird sisters in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and, just like her, Prudence does her hair the same way. This fits perfectly with the stunning features of Tati Gabrielle.
The Beach Waved Bob by Kiernan Shipka
Kiernan Shipka, who plays the role of Sabrina in the Netflix series of the same name, is wearing her blonde cut charactertick and a few messy beach waves. She is superb, I love this look on her.
Paz Vega’s cup cutter.
Paz Vega’s bone structure makes her a chameleon when it comes to the haircuts that suit her. This messy and degraded cut gives more volume on top and thins very slightly downwards.
Zendaya’s blond Caesar
Zendaya’s super classic blonde Caesar cut is everything I expected from her. The blonde tone they chose makes her skin shine with a radiant light. It’s perfect!
Li Yuchun’s feather fringe and short cut
I love the way Li Yuchun’s feathery fringe frames his face, especially with a cut as short as this one. This fringe is slightly inclined towards the right side of his face. It’s just lovely!
Claire Foy’s long business cup
Claire Foy’s short cut is a longer version of the professional cut, or a medium scissor cut.
This length allows to maintain a certain movement in the hairstyle. You can edit it to find what works best for you.
Wavy bob with a central part
This variant of the wavy brown haircut is so cool and so cute effortlessly! It is true that their outfit also has a casual but chic side with these little red sunglasses!
Pink’s Rock n’Roll
Pink has been adopting short hair for some time now, and thanks to her, we have had many opportunities to see the different styles she has adopted. This one makes me particularly think of Elvis Presly!
Paz Vega’s Bob in a straight line
This straight square, although blunt and slightly inclined downwards, is a very symmetrical cut, especially if worn with a median line. To soften the look a little, Paz Vega opted for a deep central line.
Aura Garrido’s super short bob and its fringe on the side
Aura Garrido’s super short bob is part of mushroom cutting territory. The way they added depth with a side fringe is a super cute feature.
Greta Fernández’s Hirsute Caesar
I love how this haircut manages to make that particular length have so much more extra movement and texture. If you’re not sure what I mean when I call it a shaggy Caesar, check out this article on our other section to get a good idea.
Short cut in scissors of Paz Vega
Didn’t I say that Paz Vega can wear any haircut and look great? It’s as if she doesn’t really go through an awkward length phase after a haircut.
Ruth Negga’s glamorous Eton Crop curls
This look gives me strong “roaring twenties” vibes and I love every detail of it. The way Ruth Negga’s hair is so short, but still has those glamorous ripples, amazes me. What a fantastic look!
Blonde short cut
Let me start with the fact that I’ve always thought that when blondes wear black, they look like they’re on a whole new level of fashion. The contrasts!
The short cut follows a very subtle “A” line, becoming slightly longer as the hair moves closer to the sides of the face and shorter at the back.
Do not forget that a hair with an afro texture requires proper care to stay healthy. The range of texture variations ranges from slight ripples to very frizzy strands.
More and more celebrities are starting to kiss their natural hair, and while some decide to take a break by wearing protective hairstyles like braids or mats, others opt for the total cut.
Nataliya Gotsiy’s wet look on a short cut
The “Wet Look” has been around for a while, but since Kim Kardashian played it at the 2019 Met Gala, it’s burst everywhere. Here, Ukrainian model Nataliya Gotsiy wears it with a short cut licked in a playful way and is superb.
Degraded average hairstyle by Lucie Lucas
Ok. It is therefore technically an average hairstyle, but it still fits into the category of short hair for women who are used to having long hair.
Volume is the key to this look and Lucie Lucas’ abundant hair is the perfect subject, as it makes the long layers shine in their succulent waves.
Long cut and subtle ripples
The Lob or Long-Bob, very trendy, is in vogue and I love to see how everyone adopts it by integrating it into their personal style.
Anja Rubik’s side-scan bob
This hairstyle takes a super vaporous and degraded bob haircut and gives it a little touch by adding a natural side line and a folded side to the mixture. This hairstyle is pretty cool, not to mention that it’s pretty simple to make.
Lob and wicks by Marion Cotillard
Pretty beach waves! But wait, have you noticed the very discreet locks in the ashy tones? Yes! I had to look at them twice, because they are so delicate that they fit perfectly with Marion Cotillard’s dark brown hair.
Anja Rubik crop in irregular layers
Voluminous and wonderful. Keep in mind that to get the best out of these feathery layers, you’ll need to style your hair if you have straight hair, and if you have naturally wavy hair (depending on your texture type), you’ll get different variations of this look.
The thick curls of Mina El Hammani
Mina El Hammani is a Spanish actress of Moroccan origin, best known for her debut in the Netflix series Elite. While Mina’s curls are naturally much tighter than they are here, the hairstyle gives us an exquisite rounded shape that is super flattering to her facial features.
Dark brown bob with a central line
This is a bob look cut quite frankly staying true to the trend just below the chin. A line on the side would give the equalized ends a bit of length variation, but when capped as in this example, it’s the perfect cut to accentuate symmetrical lines.
The waves of Lachlan Watson
For those who don’t yet know who Lachlan Watson is, he plays the role of Theo in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. On a haircut as short as theirs, it’s pretty cool to add stylized waves and comb patterns to establish a texture with the right products.
On the other hand, have you noticed the mint brown hue of their hair? I absolutely like to see her more and more.
Rebecca Ferguson’s Easy Flashback
Rebecca Ferguson’s smooth back is rather a mix of different hairdressing techniques. To achieve a similar look, you can start by blow drying on the front of your head to give it the necessary volume or, simply, autant that you wish. From there, the case is sealed with a few light touches of lacquer.
Angular fringe and lob by Lena Dunham
Lena Dunham’s haircut, while quite popular these days, has a distinctive feature that isn’t seen as often. It combines the lob (long bob) with a very light and slightly inclined fringe. You may not notice it at first, but that’s undoubtedly what sets it apart.
Cate Blanchett’s cut with a stingray on the side.
Cate Blanchett kept her hair quite short, which brings us to this wavy blonde cut. In this case, she paired it with a deep, angular side line, and lightly capped its ripples to minimize frizz.
Lena Headey’s Black Bob
Lena Headey, best known for her role as Cersei Lannister in HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones. She wears an A-line bob with an angular fringe with side adornment, all in black. I love the style and association of the hair!
The mushroom culture of Fatima Robinson
A seemingly simple cut like the mushroom cut can be used to highlight your facial features, as Fatima Robinson does here. By having a shorter haircut, you may want to experiment with bolder makeup and accessories, go for it!
Isa Briones Lob
Isa Briones wears a lob style quite popular nowadays, associated with subtle ripples. Notice that it actually has a straight line that shapes the whole thing, which means that in this case they decided not to make a lot of overlays, just stunning.
Diane Kruger’s Short Cut
Diane Kruger’s style in this example is a fictionalized version of the classic bob. Having the tips of her hair curled inward adds softer shapes and the stripe on the side is the perfect touch.
Cressida Bonas – Natural Lob Lob
Although shorter than some of the lobed hairstyles we present to you here, Cressida Bonas’ hairstyle would be fabulous on anyone thanks to its versatility and incredible showcasing work.
Zoe Chao’s Feathery Short Fringe
I love the fact that Zoe Chao paired her bob with subtle beach ripples and a short fringe.
Laura Harrier’s Wavy Bob
Laura Harrier’s loose waves and straight square are a dream! This hairstyle highlights the pretty features of his face.
Taylor Misiak’s wavy bob
A nice way to spice things up with a bob is to add hairpins on the side.
The Bob by Patricia Arquette
I feel like if you were born between the 80s and 90s, you must have had that haircut at one time or another. BUT now it’s your choice! We didn’t understand how chic this look was going to become.
Margot Robbie’s Bob
It is not always necessary to opt for a straight side line. Sometimes a curved line helps maintain the balance you’re looking for when it comes to hair volume.
A page from Margot Robbie’s book that is beautiful in a fairly simple and timeless hairstyle like this tiered bob.
Cara Delevingne’s blonde brush cut
Cara Delevingne’s cut is an obvious choice for practical reasons. If you’ve ever let your hair grow, surely you’ve dreamed of cutting it at some point, especially when drying takes forever..
Pixie and Katy Perry’s Bristly Fringes
Katy Perry is pretty cute with this pixie hairstyle! Notice how she worked the texture on top in diagonal layers to give her hairstyle a little more breadth.
Teyana Taylor’s Caesar without fringe
Teyana Taylor’s haircut is a cut that makes it very easy to prepare in the morning thanks to its length.
Kate Hudson’s textured Pixie
The texture works with the contrast of hair colors here with a darker base and blonde locks. Kate Hudson can definitely wear a pixie haircut!
The long fringe of Keira Knightley
Like a combination of the mushroom cut and an invasive pixie, Keira Knightley’s cut came straight out of the inspired boards of the mid-2000s, as I think we all agree that this amazing look is relevant.
The golden brown cup by Milla Jovovich
Milla Jovovich’s crop, like the lob, keeps its length that barely borders on the shoulders.
Debi Mazar’s brushed curls behind
The “brush-back” look is simple, but it is very elegant. This look leaves a bit of play to the curls on the back and I love it. It almost gives me mule vibrations!
Meagan Good’s Mushroom Culture
Meagan Good’s mushroom cut is chic and cute at the same time. Bold accessories can be the key to bringing a little more to the table with a short haircut.
Shailene Woodley’s Pixie
Shailene Woodley’s pixie is a bit longer, but it’s still cute and magical, as the style suggests.
Anne Hathaway’s The Pixie
Anne Hathaway’s version of the pixie follows a thicker and longer fringe, one might say “too long” to be a classic pixie, but it looks great with its thick fringe.
Malin Akerman’s double-tone short cut
At some point in history, this haircut alone would have been considered extremely controversial to wear for a woman. Aren’t you happy that this is no longer the case?
Malin Akerman wears it with a lighted top and darker sides, which is absolutely spectacular.
The waves of loss of Caitriona Balfe
We’d say the line between short and mid-long hair is blurred for most people, which is why we’ve included the long bob and ripples of the stunning Caitriona Balfe.
Add a ray to the side, as she did here, to emphasize beautiful waves.
Emma Watson’s textured Pixie
I love the way Emma Watson opted for a pixie cut. Her short, feathery bangs are the signature of this look and she knows how to wear it.
Eva Longoria Caramel and Chocolate Bob
It’s hard not to envy Eva Longoria’s stunning skin color combined with the perfect chocolate caramel hair color. The fact that she wears a smoothed square is just the icing on the cake.
She looks classy, she looks mysterious, a super sexy look on her!
Michelle Williams: curtain fringe and long cut
This long cut is gorgeous, but my favorite thing about Michelle William’s particular look is the frangel in curtain. It is fluffy and fits perfectly with loose waves.
JLos Long Bob and Highlights
A haircut as simple as a long bob can be totally transformed by adding a few delicate strands to the mixture. That’s exactly what Jennifer Lopez did here. A stripe on the side to give the impression of a fringe fallen on the side, and it is the final touch of a splendid hairstyle!
Emama Roberts Middle Part Lob
Let’s be honest, Generation Z is coming in force to set the trends and it seems that they have decided to opt for the central part. Finally, it is rather a comeback. Personally, I like this trend because it’s a great way to accentuate your features sharply.
Emma Roberts associates it with a long bob in a casual way. It is dazzling, as always.
Gal Gadot’s long wavy cut
The fact that most people seem to opt for a central line doesn’t necessarily mean you need to stop separating your hair on the side. Short haircuts undoubtedly benefit from the added dramatic effect that a stingray brings to the side.
Gal Gadot wears his long cut with loose curls and ripples, as well as a bulky side part.
Lara Mullen’s mushroom harvest
Lara Mullen’s style is so elegant and minimalist here and it blends perfectly with this mushroom harvest.
Angular fringe and Pixie by Portia Freeman
Portia Freeman’s short hairstyle is called a pixie, but have you noticed that her fringe is very short and slightly inclined? You can work with details like this to bring a unique character to your style.
Carey Mulligan’s short angular fringe
Carey Mulligan’s blonde pixie is super cute with its cut short bangs.
Long fringe on Pixie de Paz vega
Having a short haircut like the pixie doesn’t mean at all that you have to go all the way to the end of the super short cut. Paz Vega’s pixie leaves a beautiful long fringe and volume on top. Superb!
Mena Suvari’s Long Cut
Mena Suvari’s long cut is not exactly degraded, but the tips of her hair have definitely lost volume. If you are looking to achieve a similar look, ask your hairdresser to reduce the volume on the tips.
Mia Wasikowska’s Short Cut
Mia Wasikowska’s short cut features a very short shadow work ranging from dark brown to blonde. If you thought it was impossible to get a shadow with such a short hairstyle, think twice.
Take this picture as a promise that a clean cut is not necessarily rigid. Ask your stylist for a straight fringe with a little feather and movement for a retro effect. Add a little salty spray and you’re good to go.
Bob the Strong
The strong bob – also known as the blunt bob – has the wind in its sails. “This cut is a statement,” says Jon Reyman, owner of Spoke & Weal. “Cool is more important than sexy right now. Or rather, the cool is the new sexy. The strong bob is suitable for all hair textures, but if yours are dense, ask your stylist to lighten them first.
The trick to succeed in this cut with curls is to make sureAnd that your stylist specializes in curly hair (the Swivel app is a great resource for finding curl and coil experts in your area). A nice pair of fringes is also useful.
Zoë Kravitz’s pixie cut is both classic and cool thanks to its bangs.
The rounded bob certainly has the wind in its sails – Kim, Khloé and Kylie have all been spotted in this style. “The rounded square is fantastic because it flatters almost every face shape,” says Andrew Fitzsimons, celebrity hairdresser and natureLab Tokyo brand ambassador, who loves the cut for its retro look. The best length, he says, depends on the traits you want to highlight.
The French bob was one of the most sought-after haircuts of 2020, and we don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. “A French bob is typically shorter than your typical chin length bob that we’ve seen a lot lately,” says celebrity hairdresser Alex Brown. “It looks a bit like a ‘corner’, and it’s so chic and elegant.” At the time of cutting, specify where you want the length to reach the chin, jaw, cheeks and explain to your hairdresser how you plan to style it every day. And as always, bring plenty of photos illustrating your hair type and texture so you don’t get disappointed.
The curls are also very beautiful in a pointed bob. Here, it’s about playing on the angles. And don’t forget the wavy fringe, which adds even more visual interest. (That’s right, the side part doesn’t go anywhere, no matter what the discourse around it is).
If a bob seems too short, dive into a short cut with a lob the length of a collarbone, like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s.
When it comes to loops, it’s all about overlay. “Curly bobs can easily become too wide if a light, long layer isn’t created inside the bob line,” Brown says. Ask your stylist to remove some weight from the bob’s main line to help it expand effortlessly while maintaining the overall shape.
Bob the Hirsute
Shag haircuts are on the rise in 2021, and it’s not hard to see why. “Depending on the texture of your hair, shag is a cut that can be worn in an extremely messy way or perfectly straight,” says stylist Anh Co Tran. The cut looks great with just about every length and texture, but as Taylor Swift shows here, it’s particularly excellent with some coarse ripples that arrive just above the collarbone.
There are endless ways to style a braided hairstyle. One of our favorites? Add multicolored beads at the ends to give the entire look a younger, playful touch.
If J.Lo’s rounded tips are incredibly cool, they also have their usefulness. “The bobs that land right on or just after the shoulder are going to be the hardest worked, because it’s hard to stop your hair from turning over on your shoulders,” Brown says. “Round brushing or flat iron straightening of your hair underneath will help fight the flip.”
Bob with cheekbone
Aside from the almost moist texture, the coolest part of this bob about Rihanna is that it draws all the attention to her cheekbones.
A length shaving the chin and subtly turned downward ends give an impression of fraîcheur and beauty.
